About

Madi is a third-year journalism and political science student at the University of Florida. She has been studying journalism since fall 2014 and has covered both entertainment and politics. During these years, she's covered events such as a 2016 Donald Trump presidential rally and multiple Gainesville City Commission meetings.

From August 2014 to May 2017, Madi was studying at Florida Gulf Coast University before transferring to UF that August. While there, she staffed for Eagle News and was the assistant editor for the Entertainment & Lifestyles section.

Now, she is a reporter for WUFT.org and contributes for the Independent Florida Alligator. She is also a research assistant with the Brechner Center for Freedom of Information at UF. There, she works on projects to protect the rights of journalists and the media.

Her passions lie in law and national politics as well as culture, people and food. Her objective is to become a court reporter and move her way up to reporting on the Supreme Court for a national newspaper.

She is expected to graduate in May 2020 and continue her education in law school.
